This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a welcoming team where they will play an instrumental role nurturing exciting collaborations and developing the wider studio ethos and mission.

Context
Kaleider is a production studio based in Exeter where we bring together individuals and companies who are trying to make the world a better place in pioneering and creative ways.

We work with artists, scientists, researchers and technologists to make new experiences, products and services for the public to encounter and engage with, whether in the physical world, the digital world, or both.

What comes out of Kaleider is often quite playful even though it deals with big ideas.

A collaboration
The development of this new role is a collaboration between Kaleider and the University of Exeter, in particular the department of Geography, who share our ambition to increase and nurture the relationships between research, creative practice and audiences.

The Role
The Producer will produce Kaleider’s physical space and network. The aim is to bring together leading research and researchers with individuals and companies working in the creative industries to develop new, meaningful, high quality experiences, products and services that can engage the public. The role will not have access to production scale budgets, so the focus of the work will be in stimulating and supporting the development of exciting new ideas through to a stage where the collaborators are ready to bid for funding or pitch for investment.

The role will work between individuals/companies working in the creative industries and research from across all disciplines, but will have a significant focus on research from the Department of Geography.

Research from Geography at University of Exeter influences the very latest studies, understanding and advances in both human and physical geography and environmental studies. Their world-leading research spans the breadth of geography, addressing key global issues and shaping the future. Geography offers a home to researchers interested in exploring intersections around the environmental, cultural, economic, political, historical and social relationships. Colleagues study varied subjects from food security, animal welfare, domestic violence, migration and refugee governance, heritage to the impact of global climate change on coral reefs, extreme weather events, wild fires and glacier melt.
