I am originally from Shropshire but when I got married moved Torquay where we lived for nine years and returned to the UK initially to live in Launceston in 2019 after living and working in the Algarve, Portugal for twenty years.

I have painted all my life and whilst living in Portugal I took up painting “en plein air” using watercolours and the vibrant light typical of the Western Algarve to produce images of local scenes. As I have developed my experience and skills I have also embraced the use of acrylics and oils. I was regularly exhibiting my work in both Portugal and Spain and have many happy clients there.

Now back in the UK and since 2021, back in Torquay I am continuing to expand the mediums I paint with and using water-based oils to produce images of the uniquely Westcountry landscape. I am constantly drawn to the sea and to the infinite variety of cliffs and shorelines that surround my new home.

I really enjoy the challenge that landscapes offer and but also like the detail of painting flowers and still life.
