Executive Assistant to the General Director, Opera North

Based in Leeds, rooted in the North of England and international in outlook, Opera North's award-winning work tours to theatre stages and concert halls throughout the North and beyond, including to London and major international festivals. In Leeds they curate an eclectic artistic programme of gigs, concerts, spoken word and film in the newly transformed venue the Howard Assembly Room.

This autumn, they are moving into their new home, the Howard Opera Centre. It is a world class rehearsal facility for our orchestra, chorus and all the artists they work with, sharing the same building as their new education studio where everyone is welcome to learn about and make music. They have also created a modern flexible working environment for their staff and given their venue, the Howard Assembly Room, a new lease of life with a dedicated entrance and public spaces together with restaurant and bar in the heart of Leeds.

Owing to an internal promotion, they have a vacancy for an Executive Assistant to the General Director, working at the heart of the company to provide administrative and secretarial support to him and his wider office of directors. The broad and busy role includes diary management, meeting minute-taking and acting as a main point of contact and filter for queries.

The assignment is offered initially on a temporary and mostly on-site basis starting as soon as possible and lasting for three months, but there is the potential for a longer-term/permanent, hybrid-working appointment.

Senior administrative/PA/Microsoft office experience is essential, as well as minute-taking and diary management, supported by excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.
