Award-Winning Author Eve Ainsworth joins LAF 17 Sep

We’re delighted to announce that Eve Ainsworth, author of award winning ‘Seven Days’ and ‘Crush’ will be participating in Lindfield Arts Festival this eveyear!

Eve always dreamed of being a writer and spent most of her childhood telling stories to herself! First working in the business sector in Human Resources and then moving into schools, Eve worked in a large secondary school, supporting teenagers with their emotional and behavioural issues. She continued to pursue her writing dream throughout her busy career.

Eve’s first novel for young adults, Seven Days, was published by Scholastic in February 2015. She was nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal 2016 and has won various regional awards including the Wandsworth Teen Award and the Dudley Teen Prize. Seven Days was also voted one of the Best Young Adult Books of 2015 by The Telegraph. Her second Crush, also for young adults was published by Scholastic in March 2016.

Her novels focus on the challenges some children face in their day to day lives, such as bullying. Eve wanted to write about these issues to explore why they happen and help young people gain a greater understanding of how to deal with them. Eve talked about how books and reading as a child helped her through some of the difficult times she had, enabling her to escape the more difficult times in her own life.

Eve will be talking to young festival goers about her experiences as a writer, published author and as a reader. An enthusiastic speaker, she will inspire audiences with her love for reading and writing. As a resident of West Sussex, Eve said “I’m so excited to be involved with this local festival”.
