Lioness Theatre

Lioness Theatre Theatre Company

Based in Doncaster and Manchester, our theatre company is proud to be female-led in an industry that often puts men in the top jobs.

We create work that explores the humanity behind unlikely stories, and transcends traditional genres and forms. We aim to provide members of our company with the tools to be their very best selves, and actively encourage feedback of all kind throughout all stages of our work.

Our debut show is "The Black Stuff", a play with songs about a 19th century inventor who becomes so obsessed with his work that he neglects his loved ones. It explores the themes of ambition and sacrifice, and is based on the true story of Charles Goodyear, who invented vulcanised rubber. We tell this dark story through theatre, art, humour, and song.
