An evening inspired by an Old Time Music Hall featuring the most splendid entertainment, the likes of which Steyning has never seen! In aid of charities, St Ann’s Hospice and The Neuro Foundation.

Performers include: Can Can dancers, The Kickerbocker Glories; Irish Tap Dancer, Adrian Coomber; local choir, Kaleidoscope; Strong Man (bet on how much he can lift); Burlesque dancer, Raspberry Ripples; a fine variety of songers; poet, Tom Jayston; Stanley Holloway monologue by Peter Conway; juggler, Susi Oddball; a capella group, deciBelle.

Local artist, Paul Cutts has kindly offered to paint a picture that will be auctioned at the event to raise more funds, amongst other artwork and a raffle of interesting prizes, which will be drawn on the night.

Tickets are available in advance from Steyning Bookshop, 106 High Street, Steyning for £8.50 from April 2nd 2012 or on the door for £10; Steyning Athletics Club has disabled access. The evening will be held in aid of St Ann’s Hospice, Registered Charity Number 258085 and The Neuro Foundation, Charity Registration Number 1078790.

Alongside the variety evening, 70 felt birds have been made and posted as far as Australia and Spain; they are being decorated and hand-sewn by different people who will put a little note inside before sending them back, when they will form part of the decoration for the evening. After the event, the birds will go on a mini tour: Steyning Library 2nd – 25th June; St BarnabasHouse Hospice, Worthing, 6th - 27th July; St Ann’s Hospice, Manchester in August where they will be displayed and auctioned (all proceeds going to the charities). To complement the display,there will be a series of workshops with day patients at both hospices offering the opportunity to make a bird.
