The University is home to the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the British Music Collection archive, and one of the leading electronic music studios in the UK, including two SRIF-funded experimental electronic music research resources, the SPIRAL 25.4-channel digital spatialisation laboratory and the 48-channel Huddersfield Immersive Sound System (HISS).

Our visiting artist concert series brings world-class musicians to the department, and the annual Electric Spring Festival presents the work of leading electronic music composers, performers, and programmers.
