Paddock Orchestra returns - new members welcome!

Paddock Orchestra returns - new members welcome!

Like many amateur music making groups, Paddock Orchestra has faced many challenges over the last 18 months. During the various lockdowns the orchestra has continued to support its members with online rehearsals and remote support, but we are thrilled to finally be returning to in-person rehearsals.

Paddock Orchestra have now returned to regular weekly rehearsal, which take place on Tuesday evenings at at Paddock Community Centre. With the appointment of a brand new Conductor due to be announced in the coming weeks, the orchestra will soon be rehearsing towards their first public concert since March 2020 - be sure to follow us on Facebook to find out more as details are announced: https://www.facebook.com/paddockorchestra

In preparation, Paddock Orchestra are now looking for new members to join the orchestra. We currently have vacancies across our String section (particularly Viola & Double Bass) as well as vacancies for Flute and Trumpet, but we would love to hear from any orchestral instrumentalists that would like to join our ranks!

We are a community orchestra, and having fun and meeting likeminded people is just as important to us as the music making. We do not hold auditions, preferring trial periods to see if the orchestra is right for you. Our recommended playing level is grade 5+ but we welcome expressions of interest from lapsed player or those that might not have taken traditional grade exams.

To find out more, or to express an interest in joining, please email our Chairman, Steve Verity, on steve@paddockorchestra.org or contact us through our website.
