Echoes from the far shore is a collection of five pieces for alto saxophone and piano. The music explores memory and the passage of time in which the metaphor of the far shore is used to represent a remembrance of past memories. The music captures how we navigate the mighty river of life and push ever onwards to the open sea and the future.

Harmonically the music is for the most part tonal but with ambiguous
elements such as the use of certain modes and scales. This modal writing contributes towards giving some of the music a slight understated plaintive quality. Rhythmically the music utilises syncopated rhythms and
alternating time signatures to create a fluid rhythmic element to some of
the music
