Melanie Thompson

Melanie Thompson hybrid performance artist

I am a multidisciplinary practioner . I have been making live work for 30 years as a performer, curator, director , choreographer and visual artist in collaboration with musicians, writers, composers and people involved in the creative sector all over the world.
I have created 3 large events over the last 20 years in Somerset
The Tor dance festival in Glastonbury and Street
Palace Intrusions in Wells
The Zwillinge project in Bridgewater
I do not work in Somerset very often because there has not been the interest or support for contemporary art practice to flourish.
I am now in the process of creating a series of performance works entitled Scaping the Land - responding with film and dane to the exceptional landscape of Somerset.
