Milly J Shoes Strikingly Unconventional

I am the founder and artist of Milly J Shoes. Hand creating Strikingly Unconventional Art to Wear Shoes & Shoe Sculptures for special occasions.

I have had an unusual life, with many referring to my story as succeeding despite the odds. From abandonment as a baby in Jamaica to international upbringing, losing my brother tragically and yet still forming what I am best known for - Milly J Shoes.

Originally trained as a classical actress and singer, I founded my business after the passing of my incredibly gifted brother. My background allows me to go through with empathy, strength, resilience and a way in which to hopefully help and invigorate others.

Fortunate to have been a BBC The Voice contestant and other shows. The current Outstanding Woman in the Creative Industries awarded by the Precious Awards and Endorsed by David Cameron. The 2015 Footwear Designer of the Year awarded by Clarks and the British Footwear Association and multi major awarded, my business lives and breathes creativity!

I was very proud to be asked for international Women's Day this year to St Francis' College in Letchworth to share my story, my very unique footwear and a song with the parents, older pupils, staff and community. This evening was shared alongside Brita Fernandez-Schmidt Director of Women For Women and Paralympian, Wendy Smith. I would certainly be open of course not only to new clients, but also to be given new opportunities to share my story with particularly vulnerable communities and also privileged backgrounds who may benefit from a hopefully humbling story.

If you are aware of opportunities for people to come in in which to share as a way of inspiring others, please do consider me.

I look forward to connecting with you.
