Three Sides of Seduction - Opera's Eternal Women

“Carmen”, “La Bohème” and “La Traviata” are three of the best-loved and most popular operas in the repertoire. Their timeless stories of drama, passion, love and betrayal resonate with audiences the world over and are told through some of opera’s most ravishing and instantly recognisable music.

Using gorgeous melodies and stirring choruses from these three operas, director Martyn Harrison has woven them into a brand new love story, as seen through the eyes of its two heroines.

This semi-staged concert in the exquisite surroundings of St Saviours Church, Dartmouth will be performed by a quartet of opera singers, together with an ensemble of some of New Devon Opera’s own acclaimed singers and community chorus. The writer and director is Martyn Harrison. The accompanist is Paul Foster.
