Art Exhibition Opening Event 25th May

New Fringe member Madeline Pick invites you to the opening event of her exhibition at C-View from 5pm to 8pm on Friday 25th May at the C-view gallery in Church View, Doncaster's old Art College.

Madeline is delighted to have been asked to exhibit at C-View and looks forward to showing a series of works from past and current projects.

She works in many media often combining them together in one piece of work. A recurrent theme is rubbing back work prior to rebuilding; when this causes damage to the canvas it is often repaired using darning stitches. Madeline offers the following description of her approach: "A chain reaction response to the exciting discovery of a new ‘place’ is followed by layers of research, reading and experimentation with different media, some ‘found’ and some recycled or transformed. In this way ideas are sorted, sifted and eventually integrated into my work. Artistic license is then taken to blur the boundaries between my first and second-hand experience with the fact and fictional elements of my subject."
