Set and Costume Designer at Northern Broadsides

Are you an emerging Theatre Costume & Set Designer?
Do you live in Calderdale or Kirklees?
Northern Broadsides in collaboration with Northern Rascals and The Piece Hall are looking to engage a Designer on a Fixed Term contract for the production of The Aftermath – an open-air dance theatre piece devised by young people and choreographed by Northern Rascals.

The Aftermath is an opportunity for young people from Calderdale aged 16-25 to be part of a brand new dance theatre project that looks at what it means to be a young person in today’s society and how these times have threatened our prospects, our power and our place.

Job Description
• The successful applicant will be able to produce an original design working in conjunction with the Director and Choreographers of the production
• The Designer will be available during the rehearsal and performance period • Ensure the Production is created and delivered within budget
• Have a hands-on attitude and work as part of the team

Personal Specification
• Professional design experience required
• Focus on costuming and interest in dance preferable
• Be able to design for outdoor performance
• Good personal skills
• Communicate clearly

Dates for the production are as follows:
Rehearsals: 7th September at Dean Clough, Halifax
Performances: 26/27th September
