Creative Writing at Oakwell Hall

Creative Writing at Oakwell Hall

Places are still available on a creative writing session being held at Oakwell Hall Country Park in Birstall on Sunday, 17 March.

The session is being run by Les Hughes, a former journalist and Leeds University journalism lecturer, who will be using the beautiful park and its stunning gardens as inspiration to put pen to paper.

Over the two-hour session, Les will be helping participants get their creative juices flowing and hone their writing skills to produce prose or poetry about the park. As well as getting out and about in the park, the group will work in the relaxed atmosphere of a campfire.

The session is from 2pm to 4pm and costs £5 per person. All levels of experience are welcome and participants are asked to bring a notepad and pen.

Places can be booked at the Visitor Centre shop, in the courtyard next to the car park at the top of Nova Lane, or by telephoning 01924 324761.

The Visitor Centre shop is open Wednesdays to Sundays 10am-4pm.
