Help us keep Torbay's Green Heart Beating

The Cockington Restoration Appeal has launched the first in a series of videos to raise the profile of the project. The first in the series of short films explains the project through the story of three generations, a daughter, mother and grandmother. With a walk around the park, the little girl shows how the park has lost some of its sparkle, which key areas are proposed for restoration as part of the project and how you can help. The restoration project needs to raise £150,000 in its public appeal in order to gain match funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, a valuable amount of money to restore Cockington to its former glory. The plans for the appeal focus on the restoration of the lakes and surrounding area, The Linhay and Gamekeepers Cottage. The restoration work will create buildings with a more practical, modern use such as a heritage visitor centre and accommodation to house six Volunteer Trainees.

The videos have been produced by Torbay based video marketing company OCP (Original Concept Productions), Colin Melville, OCP's creative director said, "Having grown up in Cockington as a child I was really keen to be involved in such an important appeal. The nature of the appeal really needed a film that pulled the audience in emotionally and I think we achieved that"

Chloe French, Cockington Community Officer at Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust said, “We’re really pleased with the videos and we look forward to sharing them with the public. We’re very grateful to OCP for all the work they’ve done for us. We hope that people will view the videos, enjoy them and then donate to this great local cause.”
