Telling Tales is a festival that promotes collaboration between Torbay schools, organisations, groups, businesses and the local community. Through the exploration or our local heritage, pupils and the community alike will develop an understanding and an appreciation of our heritage and celebrate the history and traditions on our doorsteps here in beautiful Devon. Having already participated in the poster design competition judged by Roald Dahl Funny Award winner, Peter Bently, (finalists pictured below) and having been supported through an exclusive performance last month by Radio 2 Award Winning Folk Artist, Steve Knightley, the children are now eagerly anticipating their final performance.
Telling Tales 2012 is a continuing collaboration between our College, Primary Schools and the community. From skill developing workshops for our Primary teachers and students, to a final performance on the stage at the Palace Theatre, it will be an experience for all to celebrate a developing appreciation of creativity, heritage and identity.
The festival is sponsored and patronised by the British Council, Cooperative Community Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, Palace Theatre, Show of Hands, Michael Morpurgo, Linda Goss, Simon Drew, Peter Bently, ROC creative, Bijou Theatre and the Torbay Bookshop
