We are a friendly choir, based just outside Kirklees in Pensitone, but being on the border with South Yorkshire, we attract many members from Kirklees and often have concerts within Kirklees.
We were formed in 1986 and more recently under the leadership of our Musical Director, Jane Hobson, we have grown rapidly to over 50 members. We enjoy singing a wide repertoire of songs from classical, religious, folk and contemporary styles, all ably accompanied by Yvonne Woffenden, the Choir’s accompanist of many years.
We rehearse every Monday evening from 7.45 pm to 9.45 pm at St John’s Community Centre, Penistone. We enjoy a busy schedule of rehearsals, concerts, fundraisers, with the occasional competition and trip away. If you’d like to sing with us, come along on any Monday evening to join in or just listen.
