This video documents a kinetic sculpture I made in 2012. It is motor powered, and activated by the viewer using a movement sensor. The ideas behind it are a reflection of the relationship between nature and mankind. The shape of the sculpture references plants and flower heads opening up in blossom. But it purposely looks manufactured in reference to humankind trying to mimic nature. It also aims to question whether this could be some sort of satellite communicator or an object from another world.
