Steph Pillinger hasn’t had what you would call a “traditional” art career, but that doesn’t stop her being creative and applying herself in an artistic way. She graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2004 with a First Class BA Hons Degree in Restoration and Decorative Studies and since then she has continued to grow and develop new skills.

After a brief period in a creative role making architectural fused glass, an accident at work led her to withdraw from the artistic world. But now, with encouragement and support from her partner, she has found her love for art again and is currently working hard from her studio in Brixham, Devon.

Taking influence from her degree training Steph combines gilding, faux finishing and decorative effects with additional skills she has been gathering in fused and stained glass, traditional lime plastering, photography and sculpture techniques and She loves experimenting and combining them to create her unique style of art.

Her new body of work explores texture, flow and layering, producing exciting expressionistic and abstract art based upon the landscape of the British Isles, and in particular the stunning coastline and skies of her home in the South West of England.
