The roots of my work run deeply through British history; its individuals, wildlife and culture and particularly those elements which may have been lost or become a little obscured through time. Forgotten heroes, extinct species, long-gone trades & historic buildings can all be rediscovered.

Jo’s passion for drawing started from an early age, fuelled by a fascination for nature and the world around her. Her creative career started in 1983, when she undertook a General Art and Design course at East Ham Technical College. The two years spent there opened her world to art through colour and drawing and formed the bedrock of her creative training. But it wasn’t until her four years studying Interior Design at Middlesex University that her love of architecture and period style and design really flourished.

Prior to becoming a professional artist Jo spent many years in a variety of creative commercial roles within graphics, illustration and web design. Her illustrative work included three dimensional tourist maps for locations such as Canterbury, York, Soho, The Kings Road, & the official Notting Hill Carnival guide.
