Sangam Festival: A Celebration of South Asian Heritage will take place during South Asian Heritage Month (18 July – 17 August 2021) in venues and outdoor sites across Kirklees, supported by online activities.

Sangam Festival is a community festival celebrating South Asian arts, culture and heritage. Events and activities take place online, in indoor venues and at outdoor locations across Kirklees. Our aim is to bring people together to enjoy heritage and multi-arts events in a spirit of celebration, positivity and harmony.

Inclusive and representative, Sangam Festival is for people of all South Asian backgrounds – and for anyone who would like to immerse themselves in the rich history and cultural heritage of South Asia. From activities for children and families to music and dance, fashion and film, books and poetry, talks, workshops, heritage trails, exhibitions and more – Sangam Festival has something for everyone.

Sangam Festival is run by social enterprise Communities Together and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants.
