Sheila M Bury

Sheila M Bury Doncaster Artist.

Sheila Bury is a well known Doncaster artist living in the Sprotbrough Gorge, her fascination with landscapes and waterways inspires her and provides her with an inexhaustible source of paintable subjects, atmospheric vistas and seasonal light and shade.

Establishing a successful full time artist business in 1987, Sheila initially used her 55ft narrow boat Sprotbro' Painter as a quirky studio / gallery moored up at Sprotbrough Bridge, she became a member of the Guild of Waterway Artists and exhibited all over the UK waterway network. Sheila no longer has the narrow boat but remains in the Guild as an Elected Honorary Life Member.

Sheila is now volunteer Artist in Residence at YWT Potteric Carr nature reserve in Doncaster where you can occasionally find her painting al fresco and view her most recent display of paintings. For charity fundraising with her artwork, Sheila was a group winner of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2018.

Sheila has exhibited her paintings around South Yorkshire including Doncaster Art Gallery, Brodsworth Hall and Cusworth Hall. Sheila accepts private commissions for most subjects.
