Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir

Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir about us

Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir: Formed in 1934. this year is our Oak (80th) Anniversary. Originally for men living in the village, we now have members from a much broader area covering Kirklees, West and South Yorkshire. We ccontinue to recruit new members and presently have nearly 60 registered on our books. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening, alternating between Skelmanthorpe and Wakefield.

The Choir regulalrly performs in concerts, often in partnership with local well known Brass Bands and other choirs, raising funds for local and national hospices and charities.
We also enter competitions at the beginning of each year. In this latest season,
we are proud to annonce that we gained a First Prize at both the Eskdale and Wharfedale Competitions.
