Freelance Radio Practitioners

We are looking for experienced radio practitioners to create audio content for a heath and wellbeing community radio project through workshop sessions with children and young people.

Radio Practitioners will work in collaboration with a Workshop Leader to deliver creative sessions for children and young people of different ages and abilities. The Radio Practitioners primary role is to make sound recordings during workshop sessions, creating material for "What the Health!" radio shows.

Radio Practitioners will help to create a safe and accessible space for children and young people to share their health needs, concerns and solutions. Each Radio Practitioner will support three creative workshops with a specific target group. Our target groups range from: -

Walking, outdoor play and activities, nature, and games with 0-5 year olds and their families,
Cooking, healthy eating, fun recipes with fruit and vegetables with 5-10 year olds with learning diabilities,
Poetry and creative writing exploring issues faced by young people, and positive ideas for healthy living for 10-15 year olds who are home educated,
Songwriting and music production, singing about health, wellbeing, good and bad habits, and relationships with 15-20 year old young carers, and
Citizen journalism, broadcasting and interviews, local democracy, production, interviewing experts and local figures in healthcare with LGBT young people aged 20-25 years.

Radio Practitioners must be available for an Induction Day on Monday 11th May between 1pm and 5pm at Dartington Hall Estate in Totnes.

Dates of the workshop sessions are yet to be announced but expected to take place between June and October 2015.

Fee: £360 in total, based on £120 per workshop session.

Successful applicants will have a DBS check, or be happy to apply for one.
