Show your support for Soundart Radio, at a wonderful evening, of ideas, music and food

Speaker Amelia Marriette is coming to Dartington on 22nd May with her witty and wonderful talk, "Shakespeare Today" in aid of community station Soundart Radio 102.5fm

Celebrating 450 years since the birth of William Shakespeare, Amelia will be looking at how his work has been constantly reinvented for new audiences, and giving us some surprising examples.

Amelia is a Shakespeare scholar, with a passion for radio and public speaking, whose talks never fail to amaze and amuse audiences.
She studied Shakespeare at postgraduate level, and since then her career has encompassed curating the Holst Museum, working as Keeper of Art at Torre Abbey, as well as playwriting and radio presenting.
"Shakespeare Today" is Amelia's farewell event for a Devon audience, before she leaves for a new career in Austria.

As well as Amelia's talk, a delicious three course meal is provided by Dartington Hall, and live music will accompany diners.

The event takes place in Dartington's iconic medieval Great Hall, generously donated for the evening by the Dartington Hall Trust.

Takings from the event will help to keep Soundart Radio broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The running costs of the studio and broadcast platform are £30 a day, including licensing, technical, copyright and admin costs for the station. Programme makers from all walks of life are supported there to become creative and original radio presenters, and bring their own ideas to air, providing a distinctive radio station for the Totnes area.
