S.E.Ash, Artist and Photographer

I am an artist and a photographer and I use both to express my ideas and visions and opinions. I have been an artist since an early age but have also been involved in putting women photographers on the box through my role in getting 5 Women Photographers on C4 in 1985/6 and in researching Lucia Moholy whose photographs are used in most descriptions of the Bauhaus and who was married to Moholy Nagy a hungarian painter and photographers and one of the first people to create photograms alongside Man Ray and an exponent of differing angles in photography after Rodchenko. i am at present working for an exhibition at Harbour House with Sara and Graham Gilber in February next year (10th -19th Feb) and researching an exhibition at the ICA in 1978 called the Feministo which presaged much of the work of the Young British Artists. At present I am exploring Wistmans Wood with both photographs and drawings and since my college days also paying homage and gratitude to Georgia OKeefe the only woman artist I could find in 1966 when I first went to art college. I presently live in Harbertonford where I have just exhibited in the Open Studios there.
