Market Hardware Exhibition in Queensgate Market Extended

Market Hardware Exhibition in Queensgate Market Extended

The Market Hardware exhibition currently showing in Queensgate Market has been extended and can now be viewed until Friday 19 May. If you haven't had chance to wander around the Market and have a look - you now still have chance to do so!

Market Hardware is an exhibition of current design research from the Department of Architecture and 3D Design at the University of Huddersfield. The exhibition shows a diverse approach to design research from analytical studies of existing projects, innovative product design proposals and photographic studies of hospital waiting areas and Chinese housing typologies to more speculative approaches to digital graphics, gestural representations and collage.

All the work embodies an approach of practice based research that attempts to open up design to wider forms of dissemination avoiding the narrowly defined protocols of traditional design representation.

Names of artists/practitioners/creatives involved:
Nic Clear, Helen Darnell, Danilo Di Mascio, Adrian Evans, Yun Gao, Joanne Pigott-Hakim, Carl Meddings, Adrian Pitts, Penny Sykles, Ertu Unver, Hazem Ziada
Curator: Nic Clear

This exhibition is part of Temporary Contemporary - placing contemporary art within vacant spaces in Queensgate Market. A partnership initiative between the Queensgate Market Traders, the School of Art, Design and Architecture, University of Huddersfield, and Kirklees Council’s Markets and Creative Economy teams.
