Photography & Lived Experience - Post-Graduate Researchrs
Utilising photography as a main research method of enquiry, the work on show by six Post-Graduate researchers from the University of Huddersfield seeks to provoke questions about the ways in which Lived Experience can be interpreted for both the worlds of art and academia. This exhibition aims to showcase a diversity of individual research themes; the work is united by broader topics of memory and the lived experience of the present day.
Exhibitors: Alex Beldea, Tim Brown, Thomas Duffield, Sam Welburn, Simon Weldon

Bigfoot in West Belfast - Dr Liam Devlin
This exhibition emerges from personal experience growing up with the conflict in Northern Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s. As real to me at the time were events and experiences fired more by the collective imagination of myself and childhood friends. This is exemplified by a memory of a series of events that led us to believe that the mythical creature Bigfoot stalked the small fields and woods that lay just outside the housing estate in which I was growing up. The short video montage and wall text intertwines the aesthetics of documentary evidence and imaginative interpretation to critically re-engage with authoritative representations of reality.
