The Comedy Avengers Fundraiser

The Comedy Avengers Fundraiser

A Fundraiser for Hospiscare

THE cream of Devon comedy will descend upon the Beehive in Honiton this October for an evening of live stand up entertainment. The popular Comedy Avengers group, who host regular shows in Taunton, Plymouth and Exeter, are the best of the best of local stand-up comedy talent and will be the first to feature at what could become a regular comedy night for Honiton.

The coalition of comics have been hosting regular comedy nights in the south west for the past year as well as performing at a number of big festivals including OceanFest and Jurassic Fields. With numerous awards between them they offer a variety of styles including props, one liners and musical comedy as well as straightforward stand up.

The regular members of the group are Luke Honnoraty, Sandi Smith, Louis Burgess, Tom Glover, David Arnold, Richard James, Alf, Frankie Dore and Honiton's own Marcus Gill.

Marcus will be a familiar face to many as Honiton's own friendly local fishmonger but he's also a talented stand-up comedian with a reputation for his insights into life as a nerd which have seen him perform across the country at various comic book conventions as well as on the regular UK circuit.

Hosting the night will be Tom Glover, a comedian from Axminster who also hosts successful nights at the Weymouth Pavilion, Bridport Arts Centre and the Pilot Boat Inn in Lyme Regis.

About Hospiscare (Charity No. 297798)

Hospiscare provides specialist care for adults with a range of life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, motor neurone disease, end-stage organ failure, and increasingly, dementia. Throughout East Devon, Exeter and Mid-Devon, more than 2,500 patients and their families benefit from our care each year. At Kings House, our hospice in Honiton, day patients can enjoy a range of therapies and activities. Kings House is also the local base for our highly experienced community nurses, who provide 24/7 support for patients in their own homes, or in a care home or community hospital. Specialist in-patient care, meanwhile, is provided on our ward in Exeter.

At Hospiscare, we receive less than 20% of our income from the NHS, leaving us with around £6m to raise each year from voluntary sources. So we depend on the generosity of the local community to help us bridge the gap. We are enormously grateful.

Please gather your friends and help us raise funds for this valuable charity.

8pm. Tickets: £8. Suitable for age 16+
