Retail Manager - Devon Guild of Craftsmen

In anticipation of the conclusion of a fixed term (maternity cover) contract, Devon Guild Limited is seeking a Retail Manager to manage our busy craft outlet, online shop and other trading activities. This is a permanent post to commence end September 2017.

The shop is open 7 days a week, most days of the year including Bank Holidays and is open from 10.00am to 5.30pm. Weekends and holiday periods are the busiest, particularly during the summer months and before Christmas. We are seeking a dynamic retail professional, who is not afraid of hard work, is passionate about contemporary crafts and has experience of managing a diverse staff team. Our online shop is also an important growth area for the Guild, so practical experience in this area is vital.

You will be a team player with the ability to provide leadership and vision to motivate your team and other internal and external stakeholders, particularly buyers. Creative flair coupled with the ability to monitor business performance are paramount, as are organisational skills and attention to detail. All staff members are also expected to be able to act as an advocate for the organisation and the crafts sector.
