HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY

HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY

27th January, 6:00pm
Join us on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau to commemorate the Holocaust and other genocides
This important anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of the biggest genocide in human history and its meaning for today’s world. The theme of Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 is ‘Stand Together’.

This event features music, art and spoken word with contributions from Holocaust survivor Iby Knill BEM, the Mayor of Kirklees, guitarist Peter Cain, the 6 Million+ Trust and the Youth Chorus of Opera North. We will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, remember the victims of the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides, and reflect on what it means to stand together against hatred in Kirklees.

The exhibition and our pop-up cafe will be open from 5pm. The event will begin at 6.30pm prompt.
