Apparently, people fear public speaking more than death! Crazy, eh? Should it really be that way?

Here at Speak Up! we don't think so. We're on a mission to form a group who want to become better public speakers, together. We want to start a club with a warm, friendly and professional environment – where everyone is welcome. Sound good?

Why do we want to do this?
Because we want to become better speakers ourselves, and what a great environment to practice – with other like-minded individuals. Whether it's for a best man speech, a pitch or to help you get to the next stage in your career – we are all in the same position.

When is it happening?
Each month we are at The Media Centre in Huddersfield who are proudly supporting us. Look at our event calendar for dates.

We really encourage speakers to have a go, a little or a lot and practice. In addition we like to have local experts to help with their own area of expertise, be that dealing with nerves or how to use flip charts! We run this as Huddersfield's own version of the Ted Talk...
