Actor/ Actress to play pirate captain in Brixham this summer

Actor/ Actress to play pirate captain in Brixham this summer

Rehearsals and performances in Brixham, Devon.

A show set in the "world" of The Three Musketeers, but a spinoff story, based (loosley) upon Cardinal Richelieu's historical attempts to strengthen the French navy by recruiting foreign ships.

One role available, for the pirate captain - a main role in the show. Ideally a male role, but happy to cast a ferocious female character though, if the applicant can play the part.
Applicant to be able to play a character mid-twenties to forties
(the age of the character is not set in stone within this age range)

Captain Jack (or Jackie!) is ideally a male role, but we are happy to cast a female who can play the part. A main part in play, needs to play a strong, confident, humourous, larger than life character with a swagger. Good vocal projection skills a must, as open-air performances. Also need to do some stage combat, but that is covered in rehearsals.

You will be performing each Thursday afternoon, in a high octane, humourous, family street theatre show, lasting approx 20 minutes, with the South Devon Players theatre company as part of the Brixham Buccaneers Pirate Thursdays, which take place at Brixham harbour, each Thursday in the summer school holidays, mid June, through to early September.

Rehearsals can either be on a Wednesday evening, or a Thursday afternoon, in Brixham.

Stage combat skills needed to play role, but this will also be covered in rehearsals.

ABSOLUTLEY NO TIMEWASTERS.
ALL SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS MUST ATTEND AN AUDITION.
