Festival Volunteers

Festival Volunteers

For this year's Ageing Well Festival (Saturday 20th October, 10am-6pm), we are looking for volunteer stewards. Stewards help answer questions our attendees may have about the event, may assist with any volunteers with additional mobility requirements, be on hand to keep the venue organised and tidy, and help make the event a positive experience for everyone at the festival.

Volunteers need to be friendly, good communication skills, interested in health and welling being and community events. Volunteers must also be over the age of eighteen. Some travel expenses may be available, and a site visit will take place prior to the festival. A break room will be provided for volunteers to chill out in during the day, grab a drink/snack.

The Ageing Well Festival is an annual event which aims to supply information on the work of the Ageing Well project and its partners for the benefit of older people in Torbay who are 50+. We do this by providing demonstrations, activities, attractions and entertainment that is appropriate for the event.

The festival and events fit within our fourth outcome for the Big Lottery which is: “20% more of the local community value older people and ageing is celebrated and viewed more positively by all.” Through the festival, we hope to achieve the activity strand: “Promoting a positive image of ageing locally.”
