Tori Elliott Illustrator / Artist / Creative Person

Currently studying the third year of her Illustration BA Hons degree at Falmouth University, Tori is a freelance Illustrator specialising in Children’s narrative fiction, where she has recently entered the prestigious “Macmillan Children’s Book Awards” with her self authored book “Sophie’s Money Seeds”, and the Waterstone’s “Picture This!” campaign.

She is also interested in Editorial work, often working with BabyBeef Magazine. Tori is an active member of the “4inch Collective” at the Babahogs Gallery in Falmouth, and has experience of working in the creative department of Bray Leino, in North Devon.

Spending her time between Devon and Cornwall, Tori believes that her rural roots strongly influence her Illustrations, appreciating the organic forms of the moors and the sea. Tori works with a subtle and delicate line, using the feminine pastel and neutral colours in stand-alone and multiple image narratives.

Often using textile and print techniques with traditional pen and ink, Tori finds simple repetition of shape and pattern a common factor in each of her Illustrations. With another great interest in typography, Tori aims to integrate text within several of her Illustrations in innovative and exciting ways, that help to further her development of narrative Illustration.

Tori has recently exhibited as a trio of artists at the "Episode One Exhibition" at the Chelston Gallery, Torquay, with her next exhibition in the pipeline at the end of 2009 in St Ives.
