BELINDA DIXON - EXPLORERS TALK

BELINDA DIXON - EXPLORERS TALK

Saturday 18th November, 11am.

As part of Torquay Museum's Explorer Season, Belinda Dixon will be giving a presentation about exploration, both at home and overseas and her involvement with the Ordnance Survey organisation and British Exploring Society.

You can be an explorer anywhere - whether in far-distant continents or much closer to home. In this multi-media session, Belinda will give a flavour of her adventures, both for British Exploring in the Himalayas and Canadian Yukon, and for the Ordnance Survey here in Devon. She’ll also consider the wealth of ways you can make your own discoveries, however far or near you choose to go.

Belinda is an Ordnance Survey GetOutside Champion, a travel (Lonely Planet) and adventure writer, and a British Exploring Society Creative Media Leader. She also broadcasts for BBC Radio Devon, completes copy writing assignments and provides media training. She’s at her happiest when enjoying the great outdoors, something that’s reflected gleefully in her 'Always Exploring' blog.

This is a fundraising event for Torquay Museum. Tickets cost £5 and are available from reception at Torquay Museum either in person or over the phone. Pre-booking is advisable - call 01803 293975.
