If you can help a young person with a taste of work in a creative, cultural or visitor based environment, or know a young person who could benefit from the scheme, get in touch with Sam Jackman – sam.jackman@plymouth.gov.uk.

Training starts 10th July 2017
Work Placement dates- 17th – 27th July

More info:

The Prince’s Trust is working in partnership with The Arts Council of England to run a three week programme for 12-14 young people who are keen to work and gain work experience in customer service within an Arts, Culture, Heritage or Visitor based setting. We are asking for 2 week work placements commencing on the 17th July to support our initiative of getting unemployed young people into work and we’d like your help in making that happen. The Prince’s Trust has an enviable record of working with employers on Get-into programmes with over 60% of participants progressing to employment within 3 months.

The young people aged 16 – 25 will have:
• Volunteered to join the programme
• Undertaken an assessment on a taster day to assess their commitment and aptitude for the work.
• Been trained in Customer Service and completed Welcome Host Award and Level 1 Certificate
• Completed a Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
• Completed training in teamwork and communication skills

What support will you receive from The Prince’s Trust?
• A briefing session to find out about what we do and information on the young people that will be on work placements
• A dedicated staff member from The Prince’s Trust who will introduce your young person to their main contact and will make a minimum of one visit during the work placement. The staff member will also be available on call 9:00am – 5:00pm every day of the work placement for any issues or concerns if they arise.
• An invitation to our programme celebration day where you can see the young person who has been at your workplace graduate from the programme and publicly thank you for the experience you have offered them.
• We will make young people’s CV’s available to those involved with delivery
• An interview day will be arranged on the last Friday (28th July) for you to have an opportunity to meet and interview all participants on the programme, should you have vacancies, volunteer work, apprenticeships or other progression routes you wish to offer to the group.
