Meet the writer: Fereshteh Ahmadi (Iran)

A very special afternoon event in conversation with an award-winning Iranian writer visiting Torquay as part of the International Agatha Christie Festival's artist residency programme.

Fereshteh Ahmadi is a short story writer, critic and novelist living in Tehran, Iran. Since her first short story collection “Everybody’s Sara” (2004), she has been widely recognised in Iran for her enigmatic and mysterious psychological fantasies which transform yet remain deeply rooted in everyday settings. She has won several literary awards for both her short stories and novels which include “The Fairy of Forgetfulness” (2007), “Cheese Forest” (2008) and “Domestic Monsters” (2016). Fereshteh will be reading from her work and discussing its influences in the context of contemporary Iran.

Presented as part of International Agatha Christie Festival's artist residency programme with the support of British Council Iran and in association with Plymouth Festival of Words.
