TRAIL WEARABLE ART Wearable Art Show 2009

WEARABLE ART/ SCULPTURE SHOW Monday 27th July 2009

TRAIL was 5 years old in 2009 and to celebrate, along with the established sculpture trail, launched a
new initiative, an exciting extravaganza of wearable art/sculpture inspired by TRAIL’s concern for the
environment and climate change.
We hesitated to use images from the past as fashion and textiles are only one aspect of the possible
and we did not want to influence the outcome of what might be.
Recycled materials, moving sculpture, lighting, music, dance and the spoken word became the
artwork. TRAIL surprised and delighted the audience.
The event took place at The Carlton Theatre in Teignmouth on Monday 27th July 2009 and comprised
a catwalk show and collaborative performance pieces .

Judges from the creative industries representing the visual arts, performance, and fashion acted as
adjudicators to award.

1. Best catwalk piece. (The winner was Vineta Cable with her entry "Bluebelle" )

2. Best collaborative piece
