A rip snorting yarn for all the family … with songs … and snot

One day Christopher (Kirsty Mealing, Scuffle Box Theatre Company), a keen, but unorthodox gardener, finds a living nose raised by slugs in his garden.

In their hunt to find Little Big Nose a face, they encounter Doctor Skinner (Pete Shenton, New Art Club), an eccentric plastic surgeon, who has connections to the nose’s past, and sinister intentions for his future.

Directed by Esther Simpson (metro-boulot-dodo), this unlikely trail of a show comes straight from the strange brain of David Parkin.

Expect mountains of mucus, toe-tapping tunes and two nostrils full of magic.

“The show was a wonderful experience for children and adults alike. From the physical comedy of Shenton to the Disneyesque facial expressions of Mealing, coupled with the well-crafted songs and some tasteful takes on deep subject matter, meant that I had a lovely, fun-filled and poignant hour.” – Daniel Nicholas, Tetrad Collective.

*The Nose That Nobody Picked FREE WORKSHOP
Join us at 11.30 am on the day of the performance for a FREE workshop lead by David Parkin.

A fun workshop with the show’s author and songwriter David Parkin. David has been running arts workshops since 1997 and is a bit of a comedian so knows how to how to have a good time whilst making arty stuff.

There’ll be ways of creating simple movement pieces set to music, poetry and even songs, all centered around the season of spring (David’s favourite time of year). Please bring an adult, they can get involved or be an audience to check out what you’ve created!

A brilliant introduction to the themes of the show in our studio, before you see the performance at 2.30pm.

Workshop is only for children who will be attending the performance at 2.30pm and is free.

For children 5+ and their adults. Each child requires a ticket, accompanying adults do not. All children must be accompanied.

Reserve your workshop place via the website.

The show text is available on The Difference Engine, a new tool for making events and performance accessible to partially-sighted, deaf or hard of hearing audience members by delivering captioning direct to their mobile device.
