CANCELLED* Banjo Workshop (Streaming Across the Sea festival)

UPDATE - unfortunately we have had to cancel the bluegrass banjo workshop but hope to re-schedule later in the year.

Bluegrass Banjo Workshop with BB Bowness (Mile Twelve) - intermediate level and above. The workshop will be conducted online on Zoom.

BB will lead a "technique toolbox" workshop for intermediate/advanced players of bluegrass banjo. The class will learn scale shapes, arpeggios, and moveable chords that are useful for improving technique, developing vocabulary for improvisation and increasing knowledge of the banjo fretboard.

New-Zealand born BB Bowness is one of the most exciting banjo players on the contemporary scene. After moving to the USA, she co-founded acclaimed bluegrass band Mile Twelve in 2014. The band has toured worldwide, released two albums and an EP, and won the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) New Artist of the Year Award in 2020. BB has also achieved many individual plaudits, including being named one of the winners of the prestigious Steve Martin Banjo Prize in 2020.

This workshop is part of True North Music's Streaming Across the Sea online festival, with thanks to Arts Council England for the funding support. For full details visit http://truenorthpromotions.co.uk/streaming-across-the-sea/july-workshops/
