Temporary Artist Commission Opportunity - PUBLIC REALM

WOVEN into Place: Exploring North Kirklees Textile Connections

* DEADLINE EXTENSION *

The WOVEN in Kirklees Festival has been supported by funding from Kirklees Council to produce a temporary public realm artist commission. The commission will explore the relationship of North Kirklees with textiles and can be presented in one or multiple town centre locations (options include Dewsbury, Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike).

The finished artwork should be installed for the period of the festival (5 - 27 June 2021) and must engage with the community either during the process of the development of the work, in making a response to the work (or both).

Artists and creative practitioners with relevant experience either living or working in a Kirklees postcode or with strong local connections are invited to apply via this open call.

A budget of £12,500.00 + VAT if applicable inclusive of all artists fees, materials, installation & de-installation costs and all expenses is available for this work. This fee covers all sites and can be allocated in discussion with WOVEN.

Deadline for proposals: Monday 22nd March 2021, 9am
