Job Description
Established in Exeter for over 25 years, Short Run Press is widely recognised as one of the UK's leading printers and bookbinders. Customers include international mass publishers, learned societies, small presses and numerous individual authors. The apprentice will work full-time for the company in the bindery area of the business. In addition, the apprentice will work towards a Mechanised Print Finishing & Binding Apprenticeship with Plymouth College of Art. This will be delivered via onsite assessments and monthly attendance at taught sessions at a venue in Exeter. Attendance at Plymouth College of Art will be required occasionally for periodic examinations. Successful candidates will be practical, with a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of the importance of quality and consistency. As you will be working with machinery, an understanding of the need for safe working practices is essential.
