Apprenticeships in the Creative Sector

Number of Hours a week 37, contract term 18 months in the first instance.

Salary Scale: £5,000 - £9,000 (£96.00 – £170.00 per week gross)
(Agreed incremental rises according to performance and capability.)

Plymouth College of Art is pleased to announce a number of exciting training and employment opportunities for apprentices. Vacancies exist within a range of areas enabling apprentices to gain experience within a creative environment whilst achieving a formal qualification. Apprenticeship vacancies exist within the following areas:

Business Administration – Post Ref MA01
You will be required to support the administrative teams College-wide. This will include, for example, the processing of student enrolments, maintenance of student records, processing financial transactions, providing information to staff, students and the general public, supporting meetings, committees and administrative developments and systems.

Marketing and Communications – Post Ref MA02
As part of the growing marketing and exhibitions team you will be involved in all aspects of College marketing from event organisation and installations to graphic design. You will work within all areas of the team with the aim of maintaining external and internal communications as well as promoting the College through new avenues.

IT and Management Information Systems – Post Ref MA03
This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to work within a dynamic team responsible for the College IT and Management Information Systems. You will be introduced to a wide range of areas which will include regular maintenance work, the Help Desk Team, and developing online systems for staff and students.

Technical Assistant/s – Post Ref MA04
You will be based within a range of studio/workshop environments throughout the College. You will be involved in a rolling programme of activity incorporating, for example ceramics, metals, photography, glass, media, 3D, fashion and textiles. You will be required to support staff as they develop work and maintain equipment and health and safety standards.
