A Layered Journey

A Layered Journey

Routeways and Connections
South Devon AONB and Encounters Arts, with partners, local groups and communities have a wide range of creative outdoor events on offer for you this spring. Explore what makes the Kingswear and Brixham peninsula so very special. There will be stories to tell, trails to follow, maps to write, discoveries to make and music, food, and celebration. Many of these events are free thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund

Visual artist and host Shelley Castle, is the Encounters Artist leading the Routeways and Connections project and all Encounters events will be delivered by her in collaboration with different partners and practitioners.

'A Layered Journey'
Saturday 25th April 9am
Encounters Arts
Make a day of it and take part in a journey from Brixham to Greenway, starting by the sea, walking overland and then catching a boat along the Dart River to Kingswear at dusk, where participants can get a bus back to Brixham. Along the route there will be local stories from historian John Risdon, surprise guests, a focus on food and farming, and a picnic stop at Lupton Orchard. It is possible to do only the first half of the journey and leave us at Lupton House.
Numbers limited. There is a suggested donation of £4 for this event.
