CANCELLED - Harpenden Carnival

Against the current wind and rain, we have something to look forward to with Harpenden Round Table and Harpenden Town Council combining on plans for 55th Harpenden Summer Carnival. This is a free to enter event held on Harpenden Common and presents an action-packed programme of excellent acts and activities to entertain, with fantastic bands providing music throughout the day and wide range of stalls and food and drink options available.

This year’s theme is “Harpenden Superheroes”, a chance for those of all ages to have fun, dress up and join in throughout the day. To embrace this there will be best dressed prizes, free face painting for children, plus in the main arena acts including BMX and Parkour dressed up as your favourite superheroes, strongman competitions and dance and fitness groups with the opportunity to all join in! All on top of popular regulars including Ferrets, Savills Dog Show, Tea Tent, stage acts including Alligators and Akiva plus new pop-up bar and kitchen area beside the arena and Tring Brewery there to keep you refreshed throughout the day.

Carnival starts with a POW! At midday with the Procession working its way from Lydekker Car Park, passing through the town centre of Harpenden and onto the Common. This is open to all, we encourage superhero themed floats and fancy dress which is annually embraced by many local groups including Cadets, Scouts and Guides.

Whilst the objective of Carnival is an enjoyable and inclusive event for the whole family, it is a charity event and thanks to kind donations of visitors on the day and commitment of sponsors, we typically raise between £10,000 and £20,000 for distribution to our chosen charities.

This is an event put on by the people of Harpenden, with acts from the people of Harpenden, for the people of Harpenden and surrounds.
