7.30pm
Tickets £12 /Under 18s £5

Musicians in Louis XIV's inner circle were titled ‘musicien pour la chambre du Roy’ and provided music for Louis in his private chambers. This concert provides a rare chance to hear a sonata by virtuoso harpsichordist Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, as well as Marin Marais’s enactment of a surgical operation (with narration), and his stirring Sonnerie.

Nicolette Moonen (violin) is director and leader of the Bach Players. She directed the Dartington baroque orchestra for 15 years, has played with English Baroque Soloists and the OAE, and has lead Ex Cathedra and the European Union Baroque Orchestra.

Reiko Ichise (viola da gamba) studied at the Royal College of Music, and is a member of Fretwork, Florilegium, and Passacaglia. She now teaches viola da gamba at the RCM.

Lynda Sayce (theorbo) last played for TEMS with Liam Byrne. She has a PhD for her research on the theorbo, and is principal lutenist with Ex Cathedra, the King’s Consort, and the Musicians of the Globe.
