Claque Theatre Claque Theatre
Claque brings professional theatre teams together made up of all different disciplines to work on large-scale community plays across the country. Our community plays enable the widest number of people in a community to produce and participate in an original play of artistic excellence and contemporary relevance.
Over the past 30 years, Claque has produced 47 plays and is always advancing the process, art and form. We have just launched a new membership scheme and are looking for professional theatre practitioners to join. The idea is we build on our growing list of Claque Associates and offer a skills network with whom we can cross-collaborate on projects - whether that's during a community play production or on smaller projects in between. Associate members get access to our stock of costumes, props, puppets and staging (located in Sussex) as well as invites to performance workshops and events.
Our most recent work was Matters of Chance in East Grinstead in 2010. We continue to produce theatre and community arts programmes in Sussex, Kent and across the Southeast. Our forthcoming coming projects for 2011/2012 include a Community Role Play in Schools service, a Residential Impro Course called Models for Creating Instant Theatre, a Children's Book Festival and community play for Hartfield, Sussex and Farnham in Surrey.
