Civic Pride - Doncaster by Ann McCall

Civic Pride - Doncaster by Ann McCall

Ann McCall first visited Doncaster to attend a performance at Cast around 12 months ago. When she arrived, she was surprised and totally amazed by the beauty of the theatre and left feeling inspired. Ann - a visual artist living and working in Wakefield - loved the strong shapes, structures, colours and textures of the architecture. She took inspiration from this creative arts venue to design one of her latest pieces of work.

Since her first visit, Ann has been returning to Doncaster regularly to enjoy and explore the great architecture in the heart of the town and has completed a series of paintings which seek to capture that which is unique to and special about Doncaster.

After recently showcasing her work at the Doncaster ArtFair, she is now exhibiting at Cast until January 2019.

Ann said ‘There seems to be a lot of creativity in Doncaster and a great commitment to both the visual and performing arts’.
